Why the atlas exists
Data center projects are announced in press releases, approved at county meetings and financed in bank filings, and the numbers rarely meet in one place. Megawattlas puts them on one map and in one tracker: 6,017 facilities, each with a source, and megawatts only where someone accountable has published them. The aim is a reference that a reporter can cite, an analyst can sort and a resident can check against what is being proposed down the road.
